Clinical Analysis on Complications after Resection Therapy for Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Abstract
|
|
|
Clinical observations were made on 200 patients operated upon the resection therapy for pulmonary tuberculosis admitted at the 36th Army Hospital during the period from November 1. 1963 to November 1, 1965.
1. Postoperatve complications were observed in 15 cases(7. 5%) including 4cases of broncliopleural fistula and 2cases of mortality,
2. Postoperative follow up was made for 4 to 24 months after operation during their admission period.
3. Bronchopleural fistula cases were observed in 4 cases, including 2 cases after pneumoflectomy,
one case after lobectomy and another one case was noted after segmentectomy. .
4. Relative low incidence of the complications might be due to their good general conditions (You
soldiers) and regular check up of their chest X-Ray with antituberculous drug therapy at army hospital.
